Starting Up Again

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Okay, I enjoyed the time with my in-laws (and shamelessly reading 5! novels), but now it is time to get back to the business at hand - especially considering that I didn't have a single 10K day last week! I'm afraid that today won't be one either as I am doing catch-up work on the computer...

The good news is that I have dropped two pounds. I know that that doesn't sound like much, but for me... it's progress! Smile

uh-oh

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Yesterday brought rain, which brought fewer steps - only 8, 333. The day before was much better... 10, 246 steps. And now, I won't be able to take my girls to the river to play for a couple of weeks, as my in-laws are coming to visit.

Maybe I'll be able to take a walk by myself, or something... we'll just have to wait and see.

So Close

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I was disappointed last night when I read the day's steps... 9,891. Oh, so close! If I had not been too tired to care, I would have walked around the house, or something!

The day before brought 10, 381 steps - but I had to walk to the river twice!

Slowing Down

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Friday's are cleaning days around here, but I did manage to take the children down to the river. Saturday is our resting day, so I didn't do much at all (as the totals will show!).

6/19 - 9, 634 steps
6/20 - 3, 694 steps

It's So Easy

Friday, June 19, 2009

It's so easy logging in 10,000 steps a day.... when you walk almost 1/2 mile to the river and back, weed-eat for half an hour, and work in the garden! This is obviously going to be harder than I thought...

6/17 - 12, 055 steps
6/18 - 11, 756 steps

It's Here!

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

My pedometer is already here (thank you Amazon!)! The first thing that I did, after setting it up yesterday afternoon, was take my two girls down to the river to play - giving me 3238 steps for my first half day.

A Beginning

Sunday, June 14, 2009

A few weeks ago, my mother ended up in the hospital suffering from what she thought was a heart attack. In fact, it was a warning - a warning that our entire family has taken seriously. My sister and I have decided to help Mom out by increasing our movement right along side of her (we even bought matching pedometers to track our progress! Smile). Our goal? 10, 000 steps a day. That shouldn't be too hard... right?
